The Founders fund
Nearly 20 years ago, Dr. Al Adams, John Burgess, Peter Grimm and Jerry Manuel envisioned the Salmon Center as a place to provide education and research focused on improving Hood Canal and its runs of wild salmon.
Since 2000, we have educated more than 38,000 students and community members about salmon, sustainability and the environment. The Salmon Center, which sits along the Union River Estuary, allows the community to see and learn about birds, fish and wildlife. In that same time, we’ve conducted many research projects, aimed at reducing nitrogen from septic systems, better understanding Hood Canal water quality and increasing the survival of wild steelhead.
The vision of our founders helped make this work possible. You can honor the founders and their legacies by donating to the Salmon Center’s Founders’ Fund. Your support will help ensure that we’re able to continue offering unique educational opportunities while conducting innovative research, all aimed at recovering our prized wild salmon populations.
We hope you will consider supporting this effort. You can further your support by making a five-year commitment to the Founders’ Fund. 100% of your donation will be used to support the mission of the Salmon Center and is completely tax deductible. With your help, we can carry out the vision of our founders and build upon our numerous successes.
Our goal is to raise $250,000.
