Guest Services Coordinator

  • 1 Position
  • Hours: 24-36 hours per week. Tuesday – Friday will be the usual schedule, though hours are flexible and include some evenings and weekends.
  • Salary and Benefits: Compensation will be at an hourly rate and will be based on experience.
  • Supervision: Position reports to project administrator.
  • Location: Position would report to HCSEG office (the Salmon Center) in Belfair, WA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Guest Coordinator supports HCSEG’s mission by serving as the main greeter for visitors at the Salmon Center and undertaking office tasks that support the administrative staff including the Project Administrator, the Finance Manager, the Administrative Assistant and the Executive Director.

TYPICAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: 

  • Greeting guests who enter the Salmon Center facility
  • Office filing
  • Assisting with mailings to membership and donors
  • Correspondence and updates to special user groups of the Salmon Center property
  • Compiling invoices or billing packets
  • Supporting the Farm Manager and Education and Outreach Coordinator with education activities as needed
  • Other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum education: Must have or working toward an AA degree or other secondary education
  • Friendly spirit with strong customer service skills
  • Team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Diplomatic problem solving skills
  • Good natured team player, comfortable working with diverse groups of people
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience working with youth and adults in an educational setting
  • Access to a personal vehicle and ability to travel and work evenings and occasional weekends (reimbursed for mileage at the current WA State rate). 

DESIRED SKILLS OR DEMONSTRATED INTERESTS:

  • Passion for Pacific Northwest salmon ecosystems
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience handling livestock, poultry and other small farm animals
  • Knowledge or experience working with volunteer management platforms (i.e. Little Green Light, Salsa Labs)
  • Knowledge and skills related to stream restoration and salmon habitat needs
