Session 1 / Garden Planning

Topics will include seasonal garden needs, companion planting, crop rotation, local seed sources, and more! 

Session 2 / Starting Seeds

March 9th

This class will cover planting schedules, choosing between direct sowing and indoor/greenhouse seed starting, making your own inexpensive soil mix, plastic free soil blocking, and tips for buying plant starts.   

Session 3 / Composting & Soil Health

Join us as we discuss soil composition, health, organisms, and nutrient management; and learn about different composting styles so that you’re prepared to build your own compost at home.

Session 4 / Sustainable Garden Practices

Today we’ll learn about no dig gardening; organic gardening; gardening without synthetics; pest management; and other sustainable gardening tricks.

Ever wanted to save seeds from your plants to grow next year? Now’s the time to learn! You’ll gain the background knowledge you need to understand seed saving, and the practical steps you can take to save your own seeds. 

Session 6 / Preparing for Winter

Gardening doesn’t end in winter! This class will cover planting garlic and cover crops as well as winterizing your garden for even better yields next year.
