We invite you to join us for a fun and festive day of land stewardship in celebration of Earth Day. Volunteers will work alongside Salmon Center staff to support the restoration efforts along Mindy Creek and the Belfair Bark Park trail. In addition to land stewardship tasks, Earth Day festivities will include games and activities for all ages, educational stations, and guided nature walks.*
*Participation in volunteer activities is not required to participate in other activities. Stop by any time!

- Salmon Hazards: The Game A Salmon’s life is a tough journey. This carnival-style game will test your dexterity as you maneuver around the various hazards they face. How many salmon can you lead back to spawn?
- Planting Kits: Bring a mini garden home today! Kids will learn how to start their very own garden, including proper planting techniques, selecting good companion crops, and more. [Limited supply. Kits available on a first come, first serve basis]
- Lawn Games: Corn hole, ladder golf, and bocce ball
- And more! Themed coloring pages, scavenger hunts, birdhouse kits
Volunteer Activities

Help us keep invasives at bay around Mindy Creek! After several volunteer events focusing on removing invasive Himalayan blackberries, it’s time to plant native plants in their place! These efforts will support our native wildlife, improve the productivity of Mindy Creek, and shade out any invasive plants from coming back!
Guided Estuary Tour
11am – 11:45am
Join us for a guided walk of the Union River Estuary. Learn more about the history of the site, both human and ecological, and meet some of our favorite native plants along the way.
Guided Farm Tour
11:45am – 12:15am
Join us for a guided walk of the Farm at Water’s Edge. Learn more about organic and sustainable farming near salmon habitat, and meet the farm animals!
