The purpose of the Wild Salmon Hall of Fame is to honor and celebrate people
who have demonstrated, over time, actions that have inspired and which continue to
guide a passion for the preservation and recovery of abundant and diverse
Wild Salmon populations throughout the Pacific Northwest
( Alaska, British Columbia, California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington).
Nominations are gathered from around the Northwest.
The winner is chosen by a selection committee consisting of
Congressman Norm Dicks;
Bill Ruckelshaus, Puget Sound Partnership Leadership Council Chair;
Billy Frank Jr, Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission Chair;
Jeff Koenings, Director of Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife;
Charles Corrarino, Conservation Program Manager, Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife

The 6th annual Wild Salmon Hall of Fame Ceremony will be held
Saturday, September 13th, 2008
at the Admiral Theater in Bremerton
The evening includes music, drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dinner,
a program about the nominees and the announcement of the 2008 award winner

"The Dance" is a bronze casting of a cedar carving by Wild Salmon enthusiast Al Adams, which depicts the spawning dance of the Wild Salmon.
A smaller version of the sculpture is awarded to the inductee for their dedication to Wild Salmon populations of the Pacific Northwest.
